The Pitt, Widow’s Bay and DTF St. Louis Take Top Honours at 2026 Emmys
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards recognised The Pitt, Widow’s Bay and DTF St. Louis in the ceremony’s three principal series categories.
The Pitt won outstanding drama series, while Widow’s Bay received the comedy-series award. DTF St. Louis was named outstanding limited or anthology series. The honours covered programmes considered by the Television Academy for the 2025-26 eligibility period.
Noah Wyle won lead actor in a drama for The Pitt, and Rhea Seehorn received lead actress in a drama for Pluribus. In comedy, Matthew Rhys won the lead-actor award for Widow’s Bay, while Jean Smart was recognised for Hacks.
Matthew Rhys also received the lead-actor award in a limited series or television movie for The Beast in Me. Sally Field won the corresponding lead-actress honour for Remarkably Bright Creatures.
The ceremony was held in Los Angeles on 14 September. The results reflected a competitive year spanning broadcast, cable and streaming television, with awards distributed across established series and newer productions.
