October 2 OTT releases in India: What’s confirmed and where to watch
Looking for films and series that arrived on Indian streaming services on October 2, 2026? The confirmed platform-by-platform list includes #Love, Doing Life and Schumacher ’94 on Netflix; Pooja Meri Jaan and Mother Promise on ZEE5; Bethlehem Kudumba Unit on JioHotstar; The Last First: Winter K2 on Apple TV; and Ip Man: Kung Fu Legend through Lionsgate Play. Two Prime Video films are worth searching for, but should not be treated as certain October 2 premieres.
Confirmed October 2 releases
Netflix
- #Love — Tamil series. Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das play rival dating-app founders who test their competing ideas about romance through a 60-day challenge. Netflix lists six episodes for Indian viewers, with Tamil audio and options including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Search for the title with its hash symbol: #Love, rather than the unrelated films called Love.
- Tyler Perry’s Doing Life — English-language film. Naomi Baker and Jay Reeves star in a drama about a single mother and an incarcerated man whose correspondence becomes an unexpected relationship. It is a film, not a new season of a series.
- Schumacher ’94 — The Birth of a Legend — documentary film. This German documentary revisits Michael Schumacher’s 1994 Formula One championship season through interviews and archival material. Netflix’s India listing shows German and English audio options.
ZEE5
- Pooja Meri Jaan — Hindi film. Mrunal Thakur plays Pooja, with Huma Qureshi as lawyer Sana, in a crime drama about obsession, blame and a contested account of events. ZEE5 lists October 2 as its release date and identifies the film as a Hindi-language title.
- Mother Promise — Kannada film. Dhananjaya and Poornachandra Mysuru feature in an action comedy about a gambler pulled into trouble with underworld figures. ZEE5’s listing gives October 2 as the release date and Kannada as the audio language. Viewers looking for a dubbed version should check the title page before subscribing specifically for one.
JioHotstar
- Bethlehem Kudumba Unit — Malayalam film. Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju lead this romantic family comedy about neighbours Justin and Ashley. Its October 2 JioHotstar release is confirmed for Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, making it one of the more accessible choices across language preferences.
Apple TV
- The Last First: Winter K2 — documentary film. Amir Bar-Lev’s film examines the competition to make the first winter ascent of K2. Apple’s India catalogue lists it as an October 2 arrival on its Apple TV subscription service. This is distinct from finding a film to rent or buy in the broader Apple TV app.
Lionsgate Play
- Ip Man: Kung Fu Legend — martial-arts film. Dennis To plays Ip Man in a story about a Wing Chun school and a threat to the local martial-arts community. The film is listed for Indian viewers through Lionsgate Play, including its add-on channels. If searching inside Prime Video or Apple TV, check that the result says Lionsgate Play: access to an add-on channel may require a separate subscription.
Prime Video: available titles, October 2 dates still to check
Sardar 2, starring Karthi, and the Telugu thriller Mahendragiri Vaaraahi, starring Sumanth, have Prime Video title listings. The difficulty is the precise release day: October 1 and October 2 have both appeared in weekend schedules for these films, while the title pages establish availability without settling when streaming began. They are useful weekend searches, but neither belongs on a verified list of films that first arrived on October 2. Search for Mahendragiri Vaaraahi using that spelling if a search for Mahendragiri Varahi does not find it.
For any title above, check the playback button, audio menu and subscription or channel label in your own account. A platform listing confirms where to look; it does not mean every language track or add-on is included in every plan.
