Delhi traffic advisory for October 11: Which roads may face diversions today?
Which roads are diverted in Delhi today? Delhi Traffic Police has identified 30 points and surrounding stretches where movement may be affected on Sunday, October 11, 2026, amid a renewed call for protests around Jantar Mantar. Diversions may be enforced from 6 a.m. according to conditions on the ground. The advisory is a warning of possible restrictions at these locations, not a declaration that every road on the list is closed throughout the day.
The alert covers much of New Delhi and central Delhi, including approaches to Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Mandi House and Patel Chowk. It also names junctions farther out, including Dhaula Kuan, Lodhi Road and the Ring Road. Police say traffic measures can be imposed, adjusted or eased as the situation changes.
Delhi roads and junctions named in the October 11 advisory
Jantar Mantar and central New Delhi: Ashoka Road–Jantar Mantar Road roundabout; Jai Singh Road–Ashoka Road junction; Jai Singh Road–Sansad Marg junction; Tolstoy–Janpath crossing; Patel Chowk, Gol Dak Khana, Windsor Place, Rail Bhawan and RML Hospital roundabouts.
Connaught Place and routes towards the railway-station area: The Outer Circle junctions with Chelmsford Road, Barakhamba Road and Sansad Marg; Panchkuian, Jhandewalan and Mandi House roundabouts; Minto Road–Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg junction; and Guru Nanak Chowk.
Other New Delhi and southward approaches: Shankar Road–Vande Mataram Road T-point towards New Delhi; Dhaula Kuan flyover; Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk, also called W-Point; Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk, or A-Point; Samrat Hotel roundabout; Sardar Patel Marg–Panchsheel Marg crossing; the roads beneath Bhikaji Cama Place and Moti Bagh flyovers; and the Ring Road–San Martin Marg T-point.
East and southeast approaches: Bhairon Road–MGM Road/Ring Road T-point, Lodhi Road flyover, Neela Gumbad roundabout and Madarsa T-point. These are points where traffic may be affected; the advisory does not assign a fixed alternative route to each one.
Going to the airport, a railway station or an ISBT?
Allow extra time if your trip to Indira Gandhi International Airport passes through New Delhi or central Delhi. Dhaula Kuan flyover and several southward approaches are on the police list, but that does not mean all airport roads are closed. Check your proposed route shortly before departure and follow traffic officers’ directions if a diversion is in place.
For New Delhi Railway Station, pay particular attention to the Connaught Place Outer Circle–Chelmsford Road junction, Panchkuian, Minto Road and other central approaches. Travellers heading to Hazrat Nizamuddin should check conditions around Lodhi Road, Neela Gumbad and nearby Ring Road junctions. Anyone travelling to an inter-state bus terminal should likewise check the route from their starting point rather than assume a citywide closure.
A road-traffic advisory does not, by itself, mean flights, trains, buses or Metro services have been cancelled. If you have a timed departure, check its status separately with the operator. Metro station access was restricted during Saturday’s protests and subsequently restored; do not assume that Saturday’s gate information will remain valid throughout Sunday.
What should commuters do before leaving?
Delhi Traffic Police advises avoiding non-essential travel through areas likely to be affected and keeping extra journey time for airport, railway-station and ISBT trips. Check its latest alerts on its official channels, including @dtptraffic, immediately before travelling and again if your journey changes. For traffic assistance, the police list 1095 and 011-25844444.
Choose an alternative only after checking current conditions: a junction on the advisory list may remain passable, while a route that looks clear when you leave may be regulated later. Follow signs and officers at the scene rather than relying solely on an earlier navigation estimate.
