Drishyam 3 opening weekend: ₹176.5 crore India net, ₹272.8 crore worldwide estimated
Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion earned an estimated ₹176.50 crore net in India and ₹272.80 crore gross worldwide during its October 2–4 opening weekend, according to box-office tracker Sacnilk. That is the biggest three-day India opening of the Hindi Drishyam series: Drishyam 2 opened to ₹64.14 crore net in 2022, while the 2015 film made about ₹23 crore net over its first Friday through Sunday. These are trade estimates, not audited ticket-sales figures.
How the opening weekend unfolded
Sacnilk puts the third film’s India net collection at ₹62 crore on Friday, ₹53.50 crore on Saturday and ₹61 crore on Sunday. The Saturday decline was followed by a Sunday recovery, leaving the three-day total at ₹176.50 crore. Friday, October 2, was the Gandhi Jayanti holiday in India, an important qualification when comparing the opening with the earlier films’ debuts.
The tracker estimates the film’s India gross at ₹211.80 crore. It adds ₹61 crore from overseas markets to reach the ₹272.80 crore worldwide gross figure. The overseas total includes an early estimate of ₹20 crore for Sunday, so the global number may change as collections are reconciled.
India net and worldwide gross measure different things. The ₹176.50 crore figure is the estimated domestic collection after applicable taxes; the worldwide gross combines estimated ticket revenue before those deductions in India with overseas gross. They should not be treated as interchangeable totals or added together.
How Drishyam 3 compares with the first two films
Drishyam 2, released on November 18, 2022, made ₹64.14 crore net in India during its first three days on Sacnilk’s figures. The new film’s ₹176.50 crore estimate is ₹112.36 crore higher, or about 2.75 times its predecessor’s opening weekend. Sacnilk’s reported Friday-to-Sunday India net figures for the original Drishyam, released on July 31, 2015, add up to ₹23.15 crore. On that basis, the third film’s debut is about 7.6 times the first film’s.
The difference was visible from opening day. Sacnilk lists ₹5.85 crore net for the first film’s opening Friday and ₹15.38 crore for Drishyam 2, compared with its ₹62 crore estimate for Drishyam 3. The 2015 film built through its first weekend, rising from ₹5.85 crore on Friday to ₹9.80 crore on Sunday. The 2022 sequel also grew each day, from ₹15.38 crore on Friday to ₹27.17 crore on Sunday. The third film began at a much higher level but did not follow that same day-by-day growth pattern.
Those comparisons use India net collections over the same three-day Friday-to-Sunday period. They do not adjust for changes in ticket prices, screen availability or the holiday benefit of the latest release. Nor do they compare a new film’s opening weekend with an older film’s full theatrical run.
What is confirmed—and what remains an estimate
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion opened in cinemas on October 2, 2026, with Devgn returning as Vijay Salgaonkar. Abhishek Pathak directed the film, as he did Drishyam 2. The earlier Hindi films established the characters whose story continues in this installment; their opening-weekend figures provide a clearer measure of the franchise’s expanding debut than lifetime totals would.
Sacnilk cautions that its box-office data are compiled from multiple sources and its own research, and may differ from producers’ figures. Its ₹176.50 crore India net and ₹272.80 crore worldwide gross totals should therefore be read as the tracker’s current opening-weekend estimates, not as independently audited receipts. Subsequent reporting or distributor figures could revise the totals without changing the central comparison: on the available estimates, the third Hindi film opened substantially ahead of both predecessors.
